Cooking Time:
Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 7–9 minutes
Total Time: ~15 minutes
Main Ingredients:
1 bunch of fresh asparagus (about 1 lb or 450g)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Add-On Seasonings:
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)
Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions:
Prep the Asparagus:
Rinse the asparagus under cold water and pat dry. Trim the tough woody ends (about 1–2 inches from the bottom).
Season:
Place the asparagus in a bowl or on a tray. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings like garlic powder or lemon zest.
Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2–3 minutes.
Cook:
Place the asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Thinner stalks may need only 6–7 minutes; thicker ones may need closer to 10.
Serve:
Remove from the air fryer and immediately garnish with Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve with fresh lemon wedges for a zesty finish.
Tips:
For ultra-thin asparagus, reduce cooking time to avoid over-crisping.
Try adding a drizzle of balsamic glaze after cooking for a gourmet twist.
Air-fried asparagus pairs well with grilled chicken, salmon, or as part of a healthy brunch plate.
